DREAM CATCHER BLOG 1st March 2017   March 5th, 2017

Today on the Blog, we talk about Dream Catchers.

Have you ever wondered what dream catchers really are?

For many, the dream catcher holds much intrigue with their beautiful feathers and designs. There are various sizes and materials used to make them in current times, however traditionally they are made from willow, feathers and fine sinew string. The history of the dream catcher is unique and is part of the culture from the Native American Indians.

Dream Catcher Lore:
Native Americans believe that the night air is filled with dreams both good and bad. The dream catcher when hung over or near your bed swinging freely in the air catches the dreams as they flow by. The good dreams know how to pass through the dream catcher, slipping through the outer holes and slide down the soft feathers so gently that many times the sleeper does not know that he/she is dreaming. The bad dreams not knowing the way, get tangled in the dream catcher and perish with the first light of the new day.

Here is a beautiful story for you:

The legend relates that spider was quietly spinning his web in his own space. It was beside the sleeping space of Nokomis, a Native American grandmother. Each day, Nokomis watched the spider at work, quietly spinning away, and one day as she was watching the spider, her grandson came in.

“Nokomis-iya!” he shouted, upon seeing the spider. He stomped over to it, picked up a shoe and went to hit it.

“No-keegwa” the old lady whispered, “don’t hurt him.”

“Nokomis, why do you protect the spider?” asked the little boy.

The old lady smiled, but did not answer. When the boy left, the spider went to the old woman and thanked her for saving his life.

He said to her, “For many days you have watched me spin and weave my web. You have admired my work. In return for saving my life, I will give you a gift.” He smiled and moved away, spinning as he went. Soon the moon glistened on a magical silvery web moving gently in the window. “See how I spin?” He said. “See and learn, for each web will snare bad dreams. Only good dreams will go through the small hole. This is my gift to you. Use it so that only good dreams will be remembered. The bad dreams will become hopelessly entangled in the web”.

We stock a large range of dream catchers in varying sizes. If you would like more information, please call the shop on 02 9785 0798 or visit us at Shop 1/3 Revesby Place, Revesby NSW.

Dream catchers can also be ordered online. Click the link to our online shop.

HIMALAYAN SALT LAMPS – ANGEL SALT LAMP BLOG 27th February 2017   March 5th, 2017

Angel & Himalayan Salt Lamps

Himalayan Salt Lamps are a popular addition to your home or office. You don’t know what you’re missing if you’ve never owned one. It’s like having an open window – a softly glowing natural source of fresh, clean air – on your desk, in your living room, next to the bed, or anywhere you choose to put it.

Our Angel salt lamps look absolutely divine, with the soft glow illuminating the Angel figure. (See picture below)

Since some things emit more positive ions than others like phones, televisions or any electrical equipment, there are more positive ions in the air. This can make people feel more on edge or even affect health to some degree. That’s where a salt lamp would be beneficial. The lamp will emit negative ions into the atmosphere, creating a balance and leaving a more peaceful and healthy area.

Note: The lamp needs to stay on 24/7 and it is best not to use LED globes as the lamp needs the small amount of heat generated by normal 7 or 15w globes. LED’s don’t give off enough heat and the lamp will absorb moisture. If you are not going to use your lamp for some time, wrap completely in plastic.

Please come in and take a look at these beautiful lamps, I know that once you start using one, you will feel the difference. We stock a variety of lamps in different shapes and sizes. You can call the shop for more information on 02 9785 0798.

AMETHYST BLOG 22ND FEBRUARY   February 23rd, 2017

Today on the blog, we talk about the crystal Amethyst.

This crystal can be very versatile in the way it is to be used. Amethyst is a type of Quartz, and has all the energy and power of Quartz, however, Amethyst can readily be a gentle energy as much as it can be powerful.

I’ll explain this in detail now. If you are in need of a crystal to work with in your meditation, then this will help promote calm, balance, peace and also help to elevate you to reach a higher state of emotional, spiritual and physical realms.

It can help to openly activate your third eye chakra, making your intuition and psychic awareness more prominent and open. In other words, it can provide a clearer connection from the earth plane to other planes. With its gentle and sedative energy, it can bring about peacefulness, happiness and contentment, as well as emotional stability and inner strength.

In demonstrating its great power, Amethyst can be useful to repel against psychic attack as well as help to heal from personal loss or grief and bring a sense of peace. A sure sign of its strength is the ability to help with being flexible as a sign of great inner strength.

For those with addictions, Amethyst has been widely renowned to improve the process of eliminating addictions, such as: alcohol, drugs, smoking and most compulsive behaviours.

If I had to sum up what the crystal Amethyst is, this is how I would do it:

“Amethyst is a crystal offering much spiritual protection and purification, leaving one’s energy field free of negativity and lower energetic attachments, and creating a strong shield of spiritual light around the body. It acts as a barrier against lower energies, psychic attack and addictive behaviour. It is a ‘go to’ crystal for those who regularly do psychic or intuitive work, and will enhance your personal space with a healing and protective shield.”

PENDULUM BLOG 3rd Feb 17   February 22nd, 2017

Today on the Blog, we talk about what a pendulum is and how to use it. (Pictured are just some of the pendulums we have in stock)

Firstly, do you know what a pendulum is?

A pendulum is a small weight on a string or chain. The weight shouldn’t be too heavy or too light, and it can be any sort of string or chain. Normally they are small with a point facing downwards. The chain or string is usually about 20 cm long. It is popular to have a crystal on a length of chain, but if you don’t have one available, you can use a chain and pendant, or anything that will loosely hang freely.

Throughout history pendulums have been used to locate water, gold, gems, and other valuable items.

The pendulum can be thought of as an extension of the intuition and a tool to access and enhance information that already exists in your subconscious mind. It could be said that it strengthens or amplifies the intuition because it converts the subtleties of the intuition into a more obvious form of physical motion.

When you ask a question of the pendulum, it is your own intuition that answers it. The pendulum merely allows you to physically see what the intuition already knows. As an extension of the intuition, the pendulum can give you information from the same two sources as the intuition: from your own subconscious mind; and from your guidance, spirit, or guardian angel. Because of how it operates, the pendulum can only answer questions that are phrased so that the answer is either “yes” or “no”.

- Determining the “yes” and “no” Response.
Before using a pendulum for the first time it is important to establish how your pendulum will respond to a question. To do this, you may ask the pendulum to show you a ‘Yes’. Note which way the pendulum turns. Now ask the pendulum to show you a ‘No’. Take note of this response.

There are times when the answer is a ‘Maybe’ or a ‘Not to know’ response. Ask your pendulum to show you how it will respond.
Once you are confident of the different ways your pendulum will respond, start asking some questions. You can start by asking simple questions like, ‘Is my name……’. or do I have ‘……hair’.
This way, you will get a feel for the response. You can also purposely ask it an incorrect question and watch the response.

- Appropriate types of questions to ask.
Free will plays an important role when considering using a pendulum as a tool. Example, it is appropriate to ask whether it would be good for you to marry a particular person, but it is not appropriate for you to ask whether he/she is going to ask you to marry him, because that is not your right to choose.

In the same way, it is not appropriate to ask if you are going to meet your prince charming today, because that is not within your control. However, it is appropriate to try to divine other people’s motivations or who they are inside, because you already know this at a subconscious level anyway. For example, it is appropriate to ask “Can I trust him? Does he want me for a friend, or only for what I can give him?”

If you would like to purchase a pendulum, we have many in store. For more information, please call the shop on 02 9785 0798 or visit us at Shop 1/3 Revesby Place, Revesby NSW.
